Hello, hello! I hope you’re all having a great April so far. March was a bit of a meh month for me, both reading and regular wise. I only managed to get through 6 books last month, which was just over half of my TBR, and the reason for that was getting asked to deliver training at a different site with work so I was doing crazy shifts and away from home for a week, so my reading went a little out of the window. That being said, I did enjoy what I read. There were a few that weren’t amazing reads, but I also had a few that blew me away and over all I had a good reading month with no DNF’s which is a first for me this year.
Non reading wise, apart from a week spent in Coventry I didn’t really get up to much, which was nice because I only have one free weekend this month!
Reading Update

Despite my terrible reading month, I’m still ahead on my yearly reading goal, and now I’m home I’m finding it easier to pick my reading back up, so will hopefully catch up this month and get through a few of my backlog reads from March. Now to get onto the books I read last month!

The London Seance Society by Sarah Penner
Silver in the Bone by Alexandra Bracken

The Bone Shard War by Andrea Stewart
Favourite Quotes
“There was a sense of relief in finally being able to draw her sword. Words were tricky, slippery things, and Phalue could never seem to bring them under her command. Weapons were easier.” – Bone Shard War
“As first instincts went, save the books was not unusual or unexpected, but she was also rational enough to know that she had to save herself to do that.” – The Warden
“Tamsin, you don’t have thick skin, you have armour,’ Neve said. ‘And while armour can stop some blows, it also means that no one ever really gets to see who you are beneath.” – Silver in the Bone
Posts I’ve Enjoyed
Leelynn did a top ten ‘Books for people who like certain authors‘ and added a bunch of books to my TBR.
Leah did a similar style post but specifically ‘books for people who love Andrea Stewart‘ and boy do I, so I added most of them to my TBR (the rest were already on there!)
Susan at Novel Lives, one of my favourite bloggers, is finally back and she brilliantly summed up our buddy read of Dark Rise that we did with Leah!

Thanks for the shout out this month! I completely get what you mean about your reading going out the window in March because things are so hectic this month that my reading has slowed down so much. But at least you got some seriously amazing books read!

Oof I do agree that when unplanned things like that happen at work, it can be hard to be in the mood/find time to read ๐ happy to hear itโs getting back to you though!
Happy reading xx

Having experienced work completely derailing my non-work life for the first two months of this year, I totally get what you mean! I hope that April will be (or is already!) much better for you and that you’re managing to read some great books! Have a great month, Becky ๐

Thanks, Dini! Honestly, being an adult and having to work sucks so much, especially when it takes time away from the things you actually enjoy doing. April has been a lot better so far, thank you, and I hope your’s is going well too ๐
