Hello, hello! Is it me or is this year absolutely flying by. We’re nearly a quarter of the way through already & I feel like I’ve not really done anything at all. Luckily my 2023 seems to be picking up over the next few months and I’m looking forward to getting out more, as well as away on a few cheeky holidays. Last month I managed to read ?? books and although a couple were a little meh, I did find some standout reads that I’m looking forward to shouting about. April though, April is a slightly smaller reading month for me, which is absolutely not a bad thing. I currently have 9 books on my TBR which means I can have a nice, relaxing, slightly quieter month and maybe even pick up another backlist book if I find the time. If you want to check out any of the below books just click on the cover to be taken to the goodreads page.

I am SO EXCITED to be finally getting round to picking up Dragonfall! I’ve been a fan of Lam’s writing for a while now, but this sounds like it going to be extra swoony and has Dragons!! Scarlet definitely has be intrigued because I have no idea what it’s going to be like, but it has the French Revolution and Vampires so I’m in. The Curse of Saints is a romantasy that has some raving reviews out atm, so I’m excited to give it a read.

I’m so happy De Castell is back writing adult fantasy, because his Greatcoats series is an all time favourite of mine, so I am obviously excited to start The Malevolent Seven. T.J. Klune knows how to break me as a reader, so I’m excited but also wary to start In the Lives of Puppets. A book about books, set in a library, by an author I’ve been meaning to read for years… yes please. The Book that Wouldn’t Burn sounds amazing.

Susan and I are going to be buddy reading The Last Heir to Blackwood Library. We read a book by Fox last year and loved it, so are hoping we will enjoy this one just as much. Leah, Susan and I have tentatively said we will be buddy reading Vicious next month as well, it’s one of the few Schwab books I haven’t read and I’ve been meaning to pick it up for a while. Leah and I are also going to be buddy reading Hell Bent. I meant to get to this when it was released, but I’m excited to be buddy reading it with Leah.
