I’m around 75% into this one and it’s just as quirky as the first book. I love Nix’s ability to set this series in the world we know and love, but change it just enough to make it that bit more magical. I’ve enjoyed seeing more of the Right-Handed booksellers tricks in this one too & definitely think I will finish it off today.

This book was bloody brilliant. I laughed, I cried, I got very rationally angry. Shroff doesn’t shy away from the darker side of being a woman in a country that see’s you as a second class citizen, so this should definitely come with a few trigger warnings: on page attempted rape as well as aggression towards women, but that just made the story feel more real for me and I adored every second.

I’m finally going in! I can’t tell you how excited I am to start this, but also incredibly scared that I’m going to be an emotional wreck by the end… wish me luck!
