Hello! How are you all? June was a bit of a slow reading month for me and I only managed to get through 8 books, but I did have a cheeky long weekend away. This month I have 10 books on my tbr and I have to say I’m excited for every single one of them. I’m sure you’ll all be hocked to hear the majority of them are arc’s, but I’ve also been slacking on my 12 months reading prompt so I’m hoping to get the chance to pick one or two of those up as well. What do your July’s look like reading wise? Have any of the below made your list? Or have you read them already? Let me know in the comments.

I have quite a heavy sci-fi month in July with A Half-Built Garden, August Kitko and the Mechas from Space and The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, but they all seem like completely different reads and I’m excited to branch out a bit more in the genre. I read a sampler of Her Majesty’s Royal Coven and loved it, so I’m excited to get my teeth into the full book.

I’ve heard good things about Violet Made of Thorns and can’t wait to give it a read. I’m a little in love with the cover for The Darkening and love the idea of the storm based magic system. The Book of Gothel is giving me dark fantasy retelling vibes & I am 100% here for it.

Leah and I missed our buddy read last month because I’m terrible and just had too much on my plate. However, seeing as we’re reading Babel, one of my most anticipated reads of the year this month, I don’t think we will be skipping it. Susan and I are picking up The Change and I am here for the angry feminist fantasy vibes it’s giving off… especially with whats been happening recently.

Like I said, I’m slacking a little on this challenge, largely because I have no control over my Netgalley requests, but this is the month, I can feel it. This months pick is The Bone Ships and I’ve heard so many amazing things about the series, I just know I’m gonna have to pick it up.

Good luck with your TBR!! It’s a great one. I am about 35% of the way in August Kitko and it’s crazy but fun!! lol. So out there for my normal read but I’m enjoying it! I really want to get to The Fifth Season and Ruin of Kings! Violet Made of Thorns I have an arc for and need to get to soon. I hope you enjoy all of these!

Thanks, Leslie! Glad to hear you’re enjoying August Kitko. It certainly sounds a little quirky and fun. I’m trying my best to read more backlist books, but some months I just don’t have the time lol. Fingers crossed we both love Violet Made of Thorns, it sounds brilliant 😀

I hear you. I’m kinda realizing that I’ve only been reading arcs lately and it’s kind of sad. I mean, I’m super grateful but I need to read some of my backlist. Good luck with trying to read more backlist books! 🙂
