Susan and I are just starting our buddy read of A Cruel and Fated Light. We both loved book one in this series, especially the characters and I am certainly looking forward to the magical world Shuttleworth created.

I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever read, or heard of, a book about the Amazons, but this one blew me away. The author managed to tell us their story, whilst also weaving in lore from other Greek myths. It was brutal and heartbreaking in parts, but definitely gave me the kick I need to pick up more Greek Mythology books.

After A Cruel and Fated Light, Susan and I will be jumping straight into another buddy read. This one for The Key to Deceit. Another sequel, and another first book that we loved. The MC in this is hilarious and unbelievably strong and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us with book two.
