Susan and I are just starting our buddy read of Vespertine. I’m only around 15% in and I’m not 100% in love with it so far. I do love the general story and the MC so will definitely be carrying on with it.

This was a 50/50 read for me, there were parts of it that I loved, and parts that just didn’t sit right for me. There’s plenty of Japanese Folklore for those who enjoy it, but the MC turned a little whiny towards the end and I just ended up disliking her as a character. My full review for this will be up tomorrow.

I’m so excited to pick this one up. I haven’t actually read anything by the author so far, but this story sounds amazing. I’ve also read a ridiculous amount of positive reviews so I’m sure I will love it.
