WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam over on Taking on a World of Words

The idea is pretty simple, every week you dedicate a post to the three W’s:

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Yes, I am still reading Empire of the Vampire. Don’t worry, I am loving it, but I had a few blog tours/buddy reads creep up on me so I had to put it on hold. I only have around 250 pages left so fingers crossed I will get them done over the weekend. Leah and I have started our buddy read of Our Violent Ends and I’m 25% in and obsessed, I forgot just how good Gong’s writing was, and have fallen instantly in love with all the characters again. I picked up Once Upon a Broken Heart in between buddy reads and am surprised with how much I’m enjoying it, I thought I would struggle after never reading the Caraval series, but the author writes it like kind of a old style fairy tale and I’m absolutely flying through it.

The Death of Jane Lawrence started off well, and then turned into a kind of slasher style book with majorly confusing magical elements and I ended up skimming the last 25% or so just to see if it ended well…it didn’t. My full review for Luminous will be up tomorrow, and though I enjoyed it as a whole, there were a few elements that just didn’t really work for me. But I did love the magic system and characters.

I’m finally starting one of my most anticipated books of the year! I’ve been putting Under the Whispering Door off because I don’t feel it’s something I can read without crying and I’ve been doing a lot of reading at work lol. I’m part of a blog tour for Keeper of the Night and am really excited to dive into this one, I’m a huge fan of Japanese mythology/folklore and this story sounds really unique.
