Hello, hello! And welcome to this weeks ttt post in which I’m talking about my favourite fictional crushes. You may notice when you see the below that I like my boys bad, a little broken and on the murdery side…. not too sure what that says about me 😂. I’m going to talk a little bit about about why I love these characters so much, as well as giving you a quote to show just how swoon worthy they are. Do you get crushes on fictional characters? If so who do you love the most? Let me know in the comments.
Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.

Aeduan – Witchlands by Susan Dennard

Aeduan or, Baeduan as he’s known by the dennerds is just such a little cinnamon roll! I mean yes, he does start off creepily trying to kill Iseult and Safi by tracking their blood BUT once we learn a bit more about him, we realise he was made to be a monster, and just wants to be a man.
“She stole his breath now, and he had no breath to spare.”

Numiak – The North Series by Alexandria Warwick

Christ this man is the king of innuendo and sexual tension, but what I love about Numiak is he never pushes Apaay into anything. It was quite clear from early on in the series that he liked her, but he let her set the boundaries of their relationship, and never really showed his feelings until she finally trusted him.
“Relax,” he purred.
His voice soaked through her defences, like rain seeping into earth. Apaay fought it’s hold. It was all she had left, this threadbare shred of restraint. If she relented control to the Face Stealer, Apaay did not know if she would remember herself.
“Maybe if you would stop touching me,” she snapped as his fingers slid higher. Her hands fisted in her lap, so acute was her desire to touch him in turn.
“Tell me to stop and I will.” Amusement in his tone. Bastard.”

Killian Drake – Seekers Series by Josie Jaffrey

Honestly, Drake’s relationship with Valentine is one of the things I love about this series. He likes her, she likes him, neither really want to admit it… there were times I wanted to hit them both over the head, but I just loved seeing him rile her up.
“Do you want me to beg, Valentine?”
I shrug. ‘It wouldn’t hurt.’
‘Then I’ll beg you. I’ll do anything you want.’
‘Anything?’
‘Anything.’ His voice is ragged now, coming in growls and breaths.”

Montparnasse – The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant

I mean, a man that would kill and die for me… yes please. This is a funny one because Montparnasse doesn’t actually play a huge part in the book, and the scenes he’s in aren’t what I would call ‘romantic,’ but he definitely knows how to make an impact and I can’t wait to see more of him in book two.
“I’ve never been able to fight your battles. I’ve not been able to lift my hand to protect you. I cannot risk dragging my guild into this war.’ His eyes are burning with emotion. ‘But if he kills you, I’ll take his head from his body and i’ll sit it on a pike in the middle of the Lords’ table in the Miracle Court and none will ever take it down. There it will rot, the worms will eat it to bone, and all who see it will remember you.’ His voice breaks.’ Even if Corday asks my life of me in return, I’ll do it I swear.”

Alizayd al Qahtani – The Daevabad Series by S.A. Chakraborty

The King of cinnamon rolls. He’s in love with his brothers wife, knows its wrong and does everything in his power to keep his feelings deep, deep down. Only problem? She’s in love with him too. He’s just so cute, and even turns against his family to protect Nahri… book boyfriend goals right here.
“She parted her lips, pulling him closer, and Ali groaned against her mouth, unable to check himself. The sound should have stopped him, shamed him. Reminded him that this was forbidden. But Ali’s entire world had just been shattered, he was going to die before the next sunset, and God forgive him, he wanted this.”

Nasir – Sands of Arawiya by Hafsah Faizal

The TENSION in book two had me fanning myself in parts. Nasir doesn’t feel like he deserves love, especially the love of Zafira, but he will follow her to the ends of the earth if he has too.
“I measure fun by the pound of my pulse.’ His low voice dropped even lower. Rougher. ‘Do you feel it?’
He trailed the backs of his fingers up her wrists, skeins of shadow following like smoke after a flame, and dipped his head, touching his mouth to the inside of her elbow with ragged breath.
Her throat was dry. ‘This isn’t fun. This is… this…’
Skies, what were words? He hummed softly, almost in answer.”

Grey – Cursebreakers by Brigid Kemmerer

Scary Grey is my favourite character in the whole series. I was devastated when Harper chose whiny Rhen over him, but am glad he got his happy ending. He literally sacrificed SO MUCH for Rhen and Emberfall, only to have Rhen turn his back on him. He really is the star of this series.
“He shakes his head, then meets my eyes. His voice is low and quiet in the warmth of the sunlit room. “I could have chosen no one better, my lady. Truly.”

Hun Kame – Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I mean, who wouldn’t fall in love with the God of the Underworld? I genuinely loved this book, and seeing the relationship blossom between Hun Kame and Casiopea was one of the main reasons. He’s a man out of time… kinda, and it was hilarious watching him try to fit into this ‘modern’ world.
“He’d fallen in love slowly and quietly, and it was a quiet sort of love, full of phrases left unsaid, laced with dreams.”

Morozko – Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden

The slow burn I was put through was torturous, but that scene in book three made it all worth while. Morozko was aloof, sometimes a bit of a dick but I adored seeing him come to the realisation that he loved Vasya.
“She bent forward to breathe into his ear: ‘Never give me orders.’
‘Command me, then,’ he whispered back. The words went through her like wine.”
