Book Quotes That Give me All the Feels – Top Ten Tuesday!

Hello! This weeks TTT prompt was simply ‘book quotes’ so I’ve decided to highlight quotes that have quite literally hit me in the feels. These are a mixture of familial, romantic, and just generally emotional quotes. Some might not give you the same ‘hit’ as if you read them in the book, but I’m sure some of you will agree with how emotional the below quotes are when in context. I’m really excited to see everyone else’s take for this prompt! What is a book quote that really hit you in the feels? Let me know in the comments.

Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.

We Free the Stars – Hafsah Faizal

We Free the Stars

“I did everything. Everything I could possibly do,” Zafira gasped out. “Why? Why wasn’t it enough?”

Lana pulled her to her chest, and somehow, the tears fell faster, harder. She was supposed to be the stronger one. The one to hold them together.

“The world has no right sitting on your shoulders, yet you’ve given it more than you will ever owe,” Lana whispered. “You’ve done for it what a sultan would require a throne, a crown, and a thousand men to accomplish.”

The House in the Cerulean Sea – T.J. Klune

“She sighed as she set her spade down before turning to look at him.
She was crying.
Linus didn’t hesitate as he scooped her up in his arms.
She buried her face in his neck, beard tickling his throat. “I am going to bury you right here,” she sobbed. “I’m digging your grave, just so you know.”
“I know,” he said, rubbing a hand over her back. “I would expect nothing less.”

A Court of Silver Flames – Sarah J Maas

“Then Rhys fell to his knees and took Nesta’s hands in his, pressing his mouth to her fingers. “Thank you,” he wept, head bowed. Cassian knew it wasn’t in gratitude for Rhy’s own life that he knelt upon the sacred tattoos inked upon his knees.

Nesta dropped to the carpet. Lifted Rhy’s face in her hands, studied what lay in it. Then she threw her arms around the High Lord of the Night Court and held him tightly.”

Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo

“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”

Burn – Patrick Ness

“I’m just a girl.”

“It is tragic how you have been taught to say that with sadness rather than triumph.”

The Burning God – R.F. Kuang

“She saw it in a flash of utter clarity. She knew what she had to do. The only path, the only way forward. And what a familiar path it was. It was so obvious now. The world was a dream of the gods, and the gods dreamed in sequences, in symmetry, in patterns. History repeated itself, and she was only the latest iteration of the same scene in a tapestry that had been spun long before her birth.”

Aurora Burning – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kauffman

“And the pain hits me again. And again. And again. It feels like forever. And though in the end I can’t even scream, in the end I lose any sense of who or what I am, I know that even if I knew where Auri and the others were, I’d never tell them now. Because as much as it hurts, as deep as it cuts, all the pain is nothing compared to the agony of the only thought I cling to.

My Cat’s gone.

She’s really gone.

And they took her from me.”

Night of the Dragon – Julie Kagawa

“My heart began an erratic beat in my chest, and my eyes filled with tears. Somewhere deep inside, part of my soul leaped up in complete, unrestrained joy, dancing, cavorting, slitting wildly from side to side, It knew him, recognised him, just as he had said it would. Across the river, bathed in light , the samurai smiled. ‘I’ve finally found you.”

The Once and Future Witches – Alix E. Harrow

“She thought survival was a selfish thing, a circle drawn tight around your heart. She thought the more people you let inside that circle the more ways the world had to hurt you, the more ways you could fail them and be failed in turn. But what if it’s the opposite, and there are more people to catch you when you fall? What if there’s an invisible tipping point somewhere along the way when one becomes three becomes infinite, when there are so many of you inside that circle that you become hydra-headed, invincible?”

The Empire of Gold – S.A. Chakraborty

“Nahri, please. Do not grieve. You have earned your happy ending, little thief. Let me do the same. Let me earn a place in the garden with my family.

    • Thanks! It was definitely one of those quotes that, when I read it, I just had to stop and appreciate the awesomeness of it. I hope you enjoy the book, it’s a quirky read but I loved it 😊
