Friday Favourites!

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to this bank holiday weekend. My works been crazy atm, and I’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes work for BBNYA so I’m excited to just chill out for a few days. I also have a cheeky Waterstones trip planned, and can’t wait to treat myself to some new books. It’s Time to showcase some of my favourite posts from the last week. As always please feel free to take part if you want to.

The Rules:

  1. You have to highlight one review, one booktag/meme & one general bookish style post.
  2. Remember to link back to the creator of the post & include a brief description as to why you have picked this specific post.
  3. Link back to me ( mainly so I can find new awesome blogs to follow.)
  4. Tag 3 people to take part in the post next week.

Favourite Review.

Kelly @ From Belgium With Book Love – The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia #bookreview #TheBeautifulOnes #NetGalley

I loved Kelly’s review! If I hadn’t already read and loved The Beautiful Ones myself then I would certainly have been picking it up after reading her thoughts.

“From the very first line, The Beautiful Ones had me hook, line and sinker. I loved Nina, the female protagonist. The Beautiful Ones is a novel of manners first and foremost, and Nina is the lady who’s just a tad unladylike and not at all dainty enough. The one who speaks her mind instead of smiling politely and batting her eyelashes at gentlemen.”

Favourite Tag/Meme.

Erin @ Lavish Literature – TOP TEN FAVOURITE BOOK CATS

I loved this weeks TTT prompt, but I also loved how Erin decided to stick with one kind of creature and names books they have been in. I wont lie when I say I added a few books to my TBR based on this post.

Mogget from Sabriel
Sure, he’s a literal demon, but the magical collar he wears makes him look like a cat, so I’m counting it. He’s grumpy, deadly, and prone to napping – much like an actual, non-magical cat.”

Favourite General Bookish.

Julie @ One Book More – Loving the Lines: Gilded Serpent by Danielle L. Jensen

Ok, so first off this is such a brilliant idea for a post! Julie picks a book she has loved and gives us quotes from it, some based around life and some based around love. I stole one of the love ones for the quote below, and whew… I will definitely be adding this book to my TBR because it sounds excellent!

“Gods, but he loved her. Wanted her more than breath. More than life. But she’d never be his. Because he could never be hers, no matter how much he wished otherwise.”
