Book Quotes to Make You Swoon – Top Ten Tuesday!

Hello Hello! This weeks TTT prompt was a Valentines/Romantic freebie, so I’ve decided to highlight some of my favourite, swoon worthy, sometimes humorous… and maybe a little more violent than normal book quotes. All of these are from favourite series/books of mine, and they also contain some of my top OTP’s. I do love a good fantasy or science fiction book, and romance isn’t the be all and end all for me, but I do find myself favouring the ones that contain it. Do you have any favourite romantic book quotes? Let me know in the comments.

Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.

Montparnasse – The Court of Miracles.

“I’ve never been able to fight your battles. I’ve not been able to lift my hand to protect you. I cannot risk dragging my guild into this war.’ His eyes are burning with emotion. ‘But if he kills you, I’ll take his head from his body and i’ll sit it on a pike in the middle of the Lords’ table in the Miracle Court and none will ever take it down. There it will rot, the worms will eat it to bone, and all who see it will remember you.’ His voice breaks.’ Even if Corday asks my life of me in return, I’ll do it I swear.”

Arthur Parnassus – The House in the Cerulean Sea

“You’re too precious to put into words. I think… it’s like one of Theodore’s buttons. If you asked him why he cared about them so, he would tell you it’s because they exist at all.”

Aldrick – Fire Falling

“Vhalla blushed and averted her eyes from his handsome face. “It’s still a poor choice,” she whispered. “It always will be.” Aldrik stood. Her breath quickened by his proximity alone. He hooked his fingers under her chin and pulled her face upward gently. “If you want to make the widely accepted appropriate decision, then leave now, have mercy and end this before you entice me further. Because I promise, this will never be easy—for either of us—and I refuse to love you halfway.”

Vasya & Morozko – The Winter of the Witch

“She bent forward to breathe into his ear: “Never give me orders.”
“Command me, then,” he whispered back. The words went through her like wine.”

Iseult – Bloodwitch

“From the day she had stabbed Aeduan in the heart, that heart had become hers—and she would not let this be his end.”

Kaz – Crooked Kingdom

“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”

Amani – Rebel of the Sands

“My knuckles skimmed over the edges of the sun tattooed over his heart. That was the last thing I noticed before I kissed him.

His jaw tensed in surprise for a moment; his hand gripped my arm hard enough to hurt. And then his body was flush against mine, pushing me back against the wall of the train.

I was a desert girl. I thought I knew heat.

I was wrong”

Kell and Lila – A Darker Shade of Magic

“Next time I walk away,” she whispered into his skin, “come with me.” She let her gaze drift up to his throat, his jaw, his lips. “When this is all over, when Osaron is gone and we’ve saved the world again, and everyone else gets their happily ever after, come with me.”
“Lila,” he said, and there was so much sadness in his voice, she suddenly realized she didn’t want to hear his answer, didn’t want to think of all the ways their story could end, of the chance that none of them would make it out alive, intact. She didn’t want to think beyond this boat, this moment, so she kissed him, deeply, and whatever he was going to say, it died on his lips as they met hers.”

Nirrim – The Midnight Lie

“Tell me what you want,” she said, “and I will make it happen.”
I want my liar, I thought.
I want her mouth.
I want her perfume to rub off on my skin like bruised grass.”

Nathaniel – Sorcery of Thorns

“God, Elisabeth, I’ve been doomed since the moment I watched you smack a fiend off my carriage with a crowbar. How could you not tell? Silas has been rolling his eyes at me for weeks.”

  1. Great list! Sorcery of Thorns, The Midnight Lie and The Winter of the Witch are all on my TBR. I love Kaz and Inej so much, and I read The House in the Cerulean Sea last month and ADORED it. Linus and Arthur are the sweetest.
