Monthly TBR – February!

Where did January go? I swear it was Christmas a week ago! I managed to read 11 books in January, which I’m pretty pleased with cause I normally go through a January lag of sorts, and an even bigger bonus is that they were all amazing reads! I’ve actually only got 3 Feb release Arc’s ( go me and slowing down on my NG requesting), so I’m hoping to knock a few titles off my backlog as well as getting a head start on some March Arc’s. I’ve got a few buddy reads planned as well as one blog tour and I’m hoping to get through 9 books in Feb… wish me luck. Do you plan ahead and give yourself a TBR for the month? If so what books are you planning to read in February? Let me know in the comments.

Arc’s

Just look at that cover for Dark and Hollow Star! It sounds amazing and the reviews I’ve read so far have been raving so I’m really excited to start it. I LOVED the Tearling novels so when I heard there was going to be a prequel I just knew I had to get my hands on it. Another cover I love, and another book I’m incredibly eager to start. We Free the Stars is a March release… there are around 3 others ahead of it date wise but I know I’m just going to have to read this one first. I adored We Hunt the Flame and, even though I know the sequel will more than likely destroy me, can’t wait to read it.

Buddy Reads

Leah and I read Jade City last year and both loved it, so it was a no brainer that we were going to buddy read the sequel together. I’m incredibly excited to see where the story goes in this second book and just hope all my faves make it out ok. Susan and I have been threatening to buddy read The Gilded Ones for around a year now? But Feb is the month it’s going to happen. The willpower I’ve had to use having this sitting on my shelf and not throwing my TBR out the window and picking it up is insane, so I can’t wait to start it.

Author/Publisher Copies

I received copies of both of these from Penguin Random House Intl and squealed with joy! I loved Gravemaidens when I read it last year and was extremely excited to get my hands on the sequel. So many people have said they loved it so I can’t wait to start. I’ve not really heard anything about City of the Uncommon Thief but after seeing that cover, and reading the description knew I had to get my hands on it.

Blog Tours

I’m a big Kagawa fan, her Shadow of the Fox series is an all time favourite of mine, and although I have’t read the other books in her Iron Fae series loved the sound of this one too much to not pick it up. Luckily I’ve heard you don’t have to have read the other books to fully immerse yourself in this one, so I’m looking forward to meeting a new bunch of characters. I’ve been dying to get my hands on Of Silver and Shadow since it was announced so I absolutely jumped at the chance to be part of the blog tour. It’s another book I haven’t read many reviews for but I’m excited to give it a read.

  1. Yay for a great bookish start to the year! 🥳 Aside from the blog tours I’ve been on I’ve been mood reading big time and I think that’s going to continue on in February as well. I have quite a few of these titles on my TBR and I can’t wait to give them a go. Really keen to see what you think of The Gilded Ones and A Dark and Hollow Star! Happy reading, Becky 😊

    • I can definitely understand the mood reading Dini, I think it was only my ridiculous backlog of arcs that got me sticking to a tbr last year 😂. I’ve just finished the Gilded Ones and I enjoyed it, but I didn’t love it. Hope you enjoy your Feb reads 😊
