First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

Happy Friday! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve taken part in this weekly meme, but I read an amazing first line the other day and just knew I had to share it!

“I’m late for dinner again, but this time it’s not my fault. There’s a mansplainer in my way.”

I literally laughed out loud when I read this first line, and luckily the rest of the book did not disappoint. This is from a YA Thriller from a well known author and I will definitely be picking up their other works. Ready to find out what it is??
