Never Have Ever… read a later book in the a series before reading the first book.

Ok, so I have done this but totally by accident and it was a crime series where you didn’t strictly have to read them in order. Once I realised I bought the first book and stuck to the order then.

Never Have I Ever… burned a book.

Never! I don’t know why I would ever want/need to.

Never have I Ever… read a book I knew I would hate.

Nope. Again, not sure why I would. My reading time is so limited I tend to only pick up books I hope I will love.

Never Have I ever… wrote a fanfiction about my favourite books.

I’ve only ever written one Fanfiction, it was around 10 years ago and for Hotch/Prentiss from Criminal Minds (don’t judge.) I do read a lot of it though.

Never Have I Ever… loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older.

I don’t think so. Mainly because I haven’t really re-read any of the books I read as a child except Harry Potter and a couple of Roald Dahl who I love.

Never Have I Ever… dressed up as one of my favourite literary characters.

We have National Book Day over here and when I was in primary school I used to love dressing up as my favourite character at the time. I think The Worst Witch was my best costume.

Never Have I Ever… hated a book by an author I love.

I wouldn’t say hated. I LOVE Victoria Schwab, but I really couldn’t get into her Monsters of Verity series.

Never Have I Ever… gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more.

More like never have I ever gone into a bookstore for one book and left with only one 😂.

Never Have I Ever… read the ending of a book before reading the beginning.

Nope, I hate reading spoilers because then I just don’t find myself getting as invested in the story as I usually do.

Never Have I Ever… read a book without the dust cover.

All the time, mainly so I don’t damage it whilst reading.

Never Have I Ever… skim read nearly half a book.

I don’t think so. I always end up missing things if I skim read and end up having to read it again anyway.

Never Have I Ever… pretended to have read a book that I haven’t.

Nope. I’ve forgotten I’ve read a book before and told people I haven’t read it, but never the other way around.

Never Have I Ever… saw the movie before the book.

HA all the time. I have a much broader love of genres in films than books so I watch a lot of rom-com films but don’t read a lot of romance books.

Never Have I Ever… had a book boyfriend.

I think my first was Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, but yes, I do get crushes on fictional characters, mainly because some of them are just so swoon worthy.

My new prompt: Never Have I Ever… read a history book or anthropology book for fun.

Yes, I’m actually a huge modern history fan. I actually buy my dad books for Christmas knowing he will enjoy them, but also because I want to read them!

My extra prompt!

Never have I ever… picked up a book based on the cover alone.

  1. So about reading a book I knew I would hate… does reading a book you thought you would love but continuing it just for the purpose of the review count? Asking for a salty friend and the readers of salty reviews who ask her to do so.

  2. Oooh you got me on the last one! I definitely have picked up a book because of the cover. I actually think I pick books on the cover more often than I do on the back of the book. Sometimes I don’t even bother to read what the book is about… And sorry for taking so long to see this! Apparently I’m a huge fan of long hiatuses.
