I saw this over on Sarah’s (Sarah Withers Blogs) Blog, which you should totally go check out because she has some great bookish content, and LOVED the questions so figured I would give it a go. I’m not sure who the original creator is, so if anyone does let me know and I will link back to them.
Name: Becky
Age: 30
Favourite Genres
I am a huge Fantasy fan, as well as Sci-Fi and some literary/general fiction.
Favourite Female Authors
I have SO MANY: S.A. Chakraborty, Samantha Shannon, Victoria Schwab, Naomi Novik, Alwyn Hamilton, Somaiya Daud, Laura Lam, Katherine Arden, Hafsah Faizal, Leigh Bardugo…. this list could go on and on and on and… you get the point.
Forever Favourites
Hmmmm… Uprooted will always be a favourite of mine, I love Rebel of the Sands, City of Brass and The Bear and the Nightingale, also Nevernight and so many more. (These questions are HARD)
What was your first book of 2019?
The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden
How did you like it?
I freaking loved it! Such an amazing ending to an all time favourite trilogy of mine.
What was your last book of 2019?
Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse
How did you like it?
Started, and ended the year on a high! This book was awesome, you know me and mythology and I got introduced to a whole new one in this book… plus I love the MC.
What do you look for in a book? What makes it really stand out?
If a book has some sort of mythology/ folklore then i’m pretty sold! Whilst reading, I enjoy books with strong characters, a well built magic system, lyrical writing and if it has an animal sidekick then you can pretty much guarantee I will love it.
Do you collect any particular sets or editions of books?
I do for series that I love. I collect Goldsboro editions and ones from book boxes. If I can get signed/sprayed edges editions of my favourite books then I will… even if my bank balance shouts at me later.
Do you prefer e-books, physical, or audio books?
I generally prefer physical books, but e-books do come in ridiculously handy, especially when i’m travelling or trying to read subtly at work! As for audio books, I just don’t have the attention span to sit there and listen to them. I find my mind wandering too much and end up missing big plot points.
Do you keep books you didn’t like, or do you get rid of them?
No. I don’t really see the point in this. I would much rather get the book to somebody who enjoyed it then leave it gathering dust on my shelves, never to be read again.
What literary character best defines you, or do you most relate to?
Oooh this is one I always struggle with! Maybe Nina from the Grishaverse because I am definitely a fan of waffles, or Cress from the Lunar Chronicles because I am teeny tiny and pretty shy when you first meet me.
I had a lot of fun answering these questions! I’m not going tag anyone specifically but feel free to take part 😀

Ooh, what a fun tag (might do it too lol) and I loved reading your answers! I love collecting special editions of my faves but I ordered for the first time from Goldsboro earlier this year and my book STILL hasn’t arrived 😂 Gutted! I tend to struggle with audiobooks and am always in awe of people who can do so much while listening 😅

You should! It’s a fun tag to answer ☺️. I know Goldsboro have been struggling with shipping delays, I hope it gets to you soon cause their editions are gorgeous 😍

This is a really fun tag, Becky! Loved your answers too. I also have the same problem with audiobooks, my mind would wonder off and I’d miss something important lol.

Thanks Stephen! I do wish I had a better attention span because it would make life so much easier 😂. Glad I’m not the only one that can’t get into them though.
