Hi all! BBNYA is up and running. We have sent out excerpts to all our amazing panellists for round one and everyone seems to be loving the book. Today i’m taking the chance to highlight another of our panellists, Kaili who blogs at Entertainingly Nerdy. Kaili posts some brilliant bookish content as well as Movies/TV & video games. Be sure to go and give her blog some love.
To start off with tell us a little about you
My name is Kaili. I just turned 30. I have two crazy dogs. One of them is named Ginny and she’s a lab mix. The other is named Zero and he is a Maltese. We named them after certain characters in movies! Obviously I love to read! I’ve always enjoyed horror books and thrillers but I’ve also enjoyed fantasy! I actually do some writing myself and I’m currently working on my first novel!
When did you start blogging and what made you decide to start your blog?
I started blogging for Entertainingly Nerdy roughly two years ago! I actually decided on this name because I didn’t want my blog to focus completely on books even though that was the main focus! This was about the time that I was halfway through my pregnancy. Since I decided to be a stay at home mom I wanted something just for me. Something that would help keep me sane. Little did I know that blogging would sometimes drive me crazy!
Do you have any fun bookish memories?
The one fun bookish memory I don’t think I will ever forget is going to Walmart to buy the Harry Potter books with my cousin. It’s a little nerdy but it’s something that I will always cherish. I’m hoping that when my son gets older he’ll be into books like me and I can continue doing the same things for him!
Name a few of your favourites: Books/ Authors/ Characters/ Movies/ TV Shows etc.
Honestly my favorite book would have to be the Harry Potter series. I say this because it’s a very well thought out series and I can always reread them. Favorite show would have to be Supernatural. I’ve been watching the show since I was fifteen and it first started airing on the CW. By this time not very many people watched it and I always loved how Sam and Dean were together. My favorite movie would have to be The Butterfly Effect. It’s one of those weird movies that always makes me want to watch it over again. I’ve probably seen that movie so many times that I know almost every line.
Where did you first hear about BBNYA and what made you decide to join?
I first heard about it through Twitter. So many book bloggers were sharing the link for it and I just had to look into it. I wanted to join because this is a really good idea and I really want to help Indie and self published authors. They deserve as much recognition as any big time author
What are some of your favourite indie/self-published books and why?
Girls of Brackenhill by Kate Moretti, Madman Across the Water by Caroline Angel, Highland Cove by Dylan J. Morgan, and Bad People by Craig Wallwork. These have actually been a few of my favorites this year. They are creepy and really entertaining. They definitely need a little more love than what they are getting!
