I am a serial re-reader, and as much as I have become better at sticking to new releases (you can thank my Netgalley backlog for that) I still find myself yearning for the familiar. I love the reliability of knowing what will happen, that I know what will happen and when and loving it just as much the second, third or fourth time around. I re- read when I need a bit of a pick me up, when I’m stuck in a reading slump or when the newest book in a series is out and I seriously need a catch up. The series below are some of my all time favourites, they made me laugh, cry, whoop with joy and empathise with their failures. I’m hoping to get to most of, if not all of these this year and I cannot wait to dive back into some of my favourite worlds and re-introduce myself to some of my favourite characters. Do you re-read? What are the reasons if you do? Let me know in the comments.
Greatcoats
I adored this series when I read it for the first time a few years ago. Falcio, Kest and Brasti became some of my all time favourite characters, and I loved following their swashbuckling adventures. I’ve recommended this to a few friends recently and it’s made me want to dive back in all over again.
A Darker Shade of Magic
I have this series to thank for my overwhelming love for Fantasy books. Lila bard is one of my favourite literary characters, and she get’s some of the best lines. I’ve been meaning to pick this series up for a while now, so hopefully this will be the year.
Vampire Academy
I had a trashy tv night a few weeks ago and this was one of the films I watched. It made me realise how much I love the books (yes the film is trash but I love it.) Dimitri and Rose are just swoon worthy…and I might have to pick up the sequel series as well.
The Bone Season
We have a new book! And it’s been that long that I definitely need to re-read this series to make sure I don’t miss anything. I’m excited to delve back into Scion London and get in trouble with Paige again.
A Court of Thorns and Roses
I recently mentioned this series in a post about books I love but don’t mention enough & it made me realise that I am well overdue a re-read. I love TOG but there is something about the Night Court that just wins me over every single time.
Rebel of the Sands
This is my comfort read. I’ve read this series about 3 times and I never get bored joining Amani and Jin (my otp) on their journey… even if this series makes me ball like a baby every single time I read it.
Witchlands
Iseults book is on the way! I am so excited to get more of an insight into the mind of my favourite threadwitch. It’s been an age since I read this series and i’m looking forward to Safi’s witty banter and Iseults calm ways… honestly I love these two so much.
The Winternight Trilogy
The writing in this book blew me away when I read it for the first time and my love for the series and characters grew with each book. It’s been over a year since I finished Winter of the Witch, and I feel like it might be the right time to head back to medieval Russia and follow Vasya and Morozko on their fateful journey.
So I might be over-reaching on my reading ability to think I can read all these this year as well as my normal TBR, but hopefully I can get at least a few out of the way. Are you due for a re-read of any of the above? Of have you not read them for the first time yet? Let me know in the comments.

Wow. Reread a whole series? I mean other than SOC and CK? I do have NNC on audible so that might happen some day but I imagine over the course of MANY MANY months.
Speaking of which, I’m surprised THAT isnt on this list! lol

Haha I’m just really in a re-read mood recently but I’m being good.
It’s not there because I re-read it at Christmas otherwise it would totally have made the list!

There are so many series on here that I haven’t managed to get to yet. I can’t wait to finally pick up Arden, Dennard and V.E. Schwab!

I haven’t read any of these but there is something comforting about a re- read, especially when it’s a fave! I’ve been wanting to read Vampire academy for a while now- maybe this year will be the year I take the plunge!

I wish I was able to re-read more titles! There’s only a handful I do every year, some seasonal favs! But I’m always on the search to add another to those seasonal line ups!

I totally feel the same! I probably won’t get to all of these this year just cause I can’t seem to stop requesting arcs 😂

When I book blogged blogged years ago I had the same problem for years; I eventually had to stop because I couldn’t balance the time commitment of getting the arc reviews up and working + going to school full time anymore but man I had a good run while it lasted lol!
Now a days I get sad I don’t get arcs anymore but omgggg that time commitment lol! Requesting arcs is super addicting!

Haha tell me about it! Netgalley is both my favourite thing & the thing that stresses me out the most. I’m so much better at only requesting a certain amount of arcs now but sometimes I go a little crazy 😂

It’s just so easy to hit request! Then the whole “well if I don’t get this one I’ll request this and this as a back up” 💆🏻♀️

A Darker Shade of Magic is my next buy. I am so ashamed that I haven’t indulged myself in all that is Schwab, but I’d rather be late than never. 😅

Definitely! ADSOM was my first foray into Schwab but it made me a fan for life, hopefully you enjoy it 😊
