Hello! I’m back with another BBNYA Panellist reveal for you, and today’s Panellist is Jo who blogs at Online Blanket Fort. Jo posts some awesome reviews and bookish content so go and give her blog some love.
To start off with tell us a little about you
Hello, I am Jo. I’m in my late 30’s and live in Aberdeen in Scotland. To pay my bills I am a Business Development Manager for a construction company… think housebuilding, office refurbishments and other exciting things.
In my spare time when I’m not reading I am cat-mum to my 2 Maine Coon girls Mia and Lily… I am the crazy cat lady I’m afraid.
When did you start blogging and what made you decide to start your blog
I started book blogging in 2018. I’ve always wanted to blog but didn’t think anyone would read it or how to even go about it. I left a job and found myself with heaps of free time and so ‘Books’n’Bits’ was born… it lasted 6 months before I morphed into Online Blanket Fort.
Name a few of your favourites: Books/ Authors/ Characters/ Movies/ TV Shows etc.
Ian Rankin, John Rebus, Stuart MacBride, Friends (obviously, who doesn’t like Friends), Star Wars geek, Lord of the Rings.
Favourite books: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (I liked it before it was cool); The Travelling Cat Chronicles.
Where did you first hear about BBNYA and what made you decide to join?
I heard from BBNYA from “Dave” at The Write Reads. WAnted to join in to help out and to thrust my bookish opinions on more unsuspecting souls!
What are some of your favourite indie/self-published books and why?
Oh! Heleen Kist’s Stay Mad Sweetheart and In Servitude are wonderful. I discovered her through a blog tour when In Servitude came out and as it’s partly set in my hometown of Perth it was instant love.
A recent favourite is Chris McDonald and his book ‘A Wash of Black’. That one has one of the goriest death scenes I’ve read in a long, long time. It’s excellent!
Where can we find you?
