Hi! I have an awesome blogger interview for you all today. Jodie, who blogs at Witty and Sarcastic Book Club has been a favourite blogger of mine for a while now, and I still cant believe she’s only been going for just over a year. She writes some top notch reviews, and is majorly supportive of other bloggers so you should definitely go and check her blog out.
Tell me a little about you
My name is Jodie. I blog at wittyandsarcasticbookclub. My husband tells me I’m witty, not funny, and my oldest son says he gets his sarcastic streak from me, which is how I came up with that name. I homeschool my children, speak in movie quotes, and I’m basically about as nerdy as it gets.
When did you start blogging and what made you decide to start your blog
I’ve been book blogging for a little over a year now. My husband suggested it because I’m always talking about books. I’m sure it’s gotten to the point that the people I know are flat-out sick of it. I assumed that I’d just be shouting into the void. I’m incredibly jazzed that people are shouting back.
Do you have any fun bookish memories?
I have oh-so-many! The first one that comes to mind happened when I was about twelve. It was December and I was happily ensconced in a chair next to our Christmas tree, rereading my then-favorite book for the umpteenth time. That year we had the largest tree ever, easily six and a half feet tall, It was gorgeous. It also randomly decided to topple over onto me and trap me (and my book) in a cage of pine needles. It makes me laugh every time I think about it.
Name a few of your favourites: Books/ Authors/ Characters/ Movies/ TV Shows etc.
Well, like I said, I’m incredibly nerdy. I love the TV show Firefly with my entire nerdy heart. I also love to play Dungeons and Dragons.
I do have a top five book list, but my absolute favorite fantasy books (my genre of choice) will always be the Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Those were my gateway to adult fiction. They also spawned my love for Dungeons and Dragons.
Where did you first hear about BBNYA and what made you decide to join?
I first heard about it from Dave at the Write Reads. I love indie books and am incredibly excited to see them getting the attention they deserve. I can’t wait to discover new gems.
What are some of your favorite indie/ self-published books and why
I truly can’t pick a favourite! I really enjoyed The Withered King, and I think The Dragon’s Banker is brilliant. But there are so many wonderful, unique indie and self-published books that I could keep going for a very long time and not even scratch the surface.
I’m really looking forward to reading new authors and passing that excitement and love on to more people!
Where can we find you?
Author entries are still open, so if you’re an indie/self published author looking for a little recognition you should check out the author entry page with all the T&C’s here!
