First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

It’s the weekend! My weekend is going to be filled with reading, watching the rugby and trying to get donations for a charity event I am hosting… so not as relaxing as I would like. I do have an absolutely amazing book on the go though and I am hoping to finish it off soon. Do you have any plans for the weekend? Or are you just chilling out with your current read? This week first line is from a favourite series of mine. I recently read the last book and it destroyed me ( if anyone of you have read my posts you might already have a clue what it is!) Filled to the brim with Japanese folklore and one of my all time favourite literary squads. Ready to make your guess?
