Hi lovelies! I’ve decided to do a new kind of book spotlight. Every month I will pick my favourite book out of my TBR and give you some insight into why I loved it, maybe some quotes and all the places where you can pick up/ Pre-order these amazing books. I managed 7 books in January so picking a favourite is going to be extremely hard. The book I have chosen is the first in an epic new fantasy series and the brucey bonus… all four books will be published within four months so there is no year long wait between. I thought this was a really intriguing concept, and though it took me a little while to get into the book I fell in love.

Orphaned, exiled and hunted, Cérulia, Princess of Weirandale, must master the magic that is her birthright, become a ruthless guerilla fighter, and transform into the queen she is destined to be.
But to do it she must win the favor of the spirits who play in mortal affairs, assemble an unlikely group of rebels, and wrest the throne from a corrupt aristocracy whose rot has spread throughout her kingdom.
I will admit this premise is a little misleading, the main part of this book focuses on Cérulia’s mother and not the Princess, but I can see how the author is aiming to set up the story and I definitely found the plot intriguing.
My full review for this should hopefully be live next week, but for now I have a fun bonus! Together with Tor I am running a Giveaway for one FC of A Queen in Hiding, this will be running until the 8th of January (open to UK entrants only). So check out the link below to see how to enter 😊

What a great idea! This book sounds interesting – especially the world-building and inclusion of politics 🙂 Fab post Becky!

I love the idea of picking one book to spotlight each month – and this definitely seems like a great choice. I’m sticking it on my TBR and looking forward to reading it 🙂 Happy reading!

Well i won’t lie, my main reason for doing it was to help me narrow down my top reads of the year in December 🙈😂. It such an amazing read though so it definitely deserved the spotlight!
