This weeks Top Ten Tuesday was a book cover freebie so I have chosen to focus on the top book covers of books on my TBR. These are physical/kindle books that I have had, sometimes for years, that I still need to pick up. Some of these I picked up based on the cover alone, others were recommendations from bloggers/authors or based on some of your awesome reviews. These are all books that I want to get to this year so i’m hoping that this post will give me the push I need to pick these up. Have you read any of the below books? What did you think of them? Would you pick any of these up based on the cover alone? Let me know in the comments.
Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.

The Master and Margarita
Just look at this cover! It is so beautifully designed & the real life version is so much better. It has beautiful endpapers and I fell in love as soon as I saw it. The book I picked up because of an author recommendation, but there were multiple editions and I picked this one for the cover.
Dune
This just gives off such a Sci-Fi vibe. Which is good considering this is described to be the bestselling Sci-Fi book ever.
The Falconer
Not gonna lie. As much as I like the idea of this book, a big percentage of my wanting to read it is based on the cover. You can’t even see the girls face and yet I get some major kick ass vibes.
The Silence of the Girls
I actually nearly walked past this in Waterstones, but the cover just jumped out and grabbed my attention and boy am I glad it did. The famous story we all know and love but from the feminine perspective… I am here for it.
The Way Past Winter
Green is my favourite colour, Winter is my favourite season… add in that I read a few of the authors books last year and they blew me away. But yea, that cover!
A Pinch of Magic
The foil on the physical copy of this book is on point! Add in sprayed edges and some top notch Waterstones on the till marketing and this was a purchase that I didn’t expect and yet simply cannot regret.
Meddling Kids
This cover gives me massive Scooby Doo vibes, which is good because the description for it does the same. I love the purple/green clash and the silhouettes against the moon… great cover design.
The Golem and the Jinni
I love the kind of desolation vibe I get from this cover. The font is beautiful, and it just seems like it’s going to be a really cozy read.
The Sisters of the Winter Wood
I treated myself to the Goldsboro edition of this and the cover is amazing. All the little intricate designs around the outside of the cover with the vines and crown. I did read the blurb for this one and felt like I would like it, but the cover certainly sold me.
The Dollmaker of Krakow
This is one of those books that looks beautiful electronically and amazing in the flesh. The colours and design really pop, and inside the book there are some amazing illustrations and chapter headers that really grabbed my attention.
What do you think of the covers I’ve chosen? Any of these tickle your fancy? Or are there any you don’t like?

Hallo, Hallo Becky,
I saw your post via Twitter — I was waiting to release my own TTT today, as I finally could share my most anticipated reads for 2020! (big smiles)
Some of the stories you’ve mentioned I know about either directly or indirectly – when it comes to #GolemAndTheJinni – I wrote a rather long and intense review about this book on my blog – I’d link it here but the comment might go to spam as I’d have had shared two links rather than one! You should find it in my search box! ๐ I was so dearly attached to the novel, the characters & the world in which Wecker gave us.. it has been extremely difficult awaiting The Iron Season which is the sequel! I don’t recommend reading it *prior!* to that release as for me it gutted me in the end — there is an ambiguous cliffhanger!
I had a rather distasteful reaction to DUNE; I was in the RAL for it and I had the audiobook from the library… it had a good lead-in but it just went south soon thereafter. I quit the RAL and gave someone else the chance to listen to it. I know I talked about my thoughts about Dune previously but for me it just wasn’t my cuppa.
Whilst I have been wanting to read The Sisters of the Winter Wood! I have borrowed the audio from my library but I never had the chance to listen to it. I’m hoping to requeue this at some point during the year – either for Wyrd And Wonder or thereafter. I’ll have to hold my thoughts on it til I can hear it.
What a nice sampling of genres & bookish interests you’ve shared with us! I love when other book bloggers like to read dynamically through different portals of interest like I do! ๐

Hi!
I will definitely check out your review for Golem and the Jinni, and thanks for the heads up because I didnโt realise it was a series. I might hold off reading until they announce a release date for the sequel!
Iโm sorry to hear about Dune! I think it might be a bit of a marmite book… you either hate it or you love it. I am trying to read more sci-fi this year so I hope I enjoy it.
Thank you so much! Iโll head over and check out your TTT soon ๐

Ooh – this is lovely news! ๐ I look forward to seeing your thoughts about #GolemAndTheJinni when you visit me. I also hadn’t realised that about ‘marmite books” – I vaguely remember others saying this previously but I was always confused by what that implied? So thank you for giving me some definition!! Also, like you I am hoping my reading life this year will be well-rounded with SpecFic – Sci Fi & Fantasy included!
