Books by my favourite authors – Top 5 Saturday!

We all have favourite authors right? The ones whose books we buy without reading the premise, whose books are our favourite re-reads, insta-picks that no matter the cost you will have that authors book on release date & ALL the special editions, the ones whose books feel like coming home when you open the pages. I only really found what I would call ‘favourite’ authors when I started reading Fantasy. Before then I had authors that I liked but none that I loved. Luckily ( or unluckily for my bank balance) my favourite author list has grown over the years as I have found more and more series to fall in love with. I’m going to choose 5 off my list and show you all the amazing books by them that I have read so far. Who are your favourite authors? Do you love all their books, or only a select few? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks to Mandy over at Devouring books  for creating these amazing prompts! You should definitely go check her blog out because she posts some great content.

Victoria Schwab

I know it’s crazy to say I love an author based on my only reading 3 of her over 10 currently published books, but I do. These were my first real foray into Fantasy and because of that I think they will always hold a special place in my heart. Schwab also created one of my all time favourite characters in Lila Bard. I currently have her villains, Near Witch and City of Bones on my TBR, all of which I hope to pick up soon.

Alwyn Hamilton

I am beyond excited to get my hands on Notorious Virtues later in the year because if it is anything like the above I am going to LOVE it. These are my comfort reads, I always find myself opening these pages when I need a bit of a pick me up. Hamilton writes some amazing characters and I love them all.

Jay Kristoff

I always prepare myself when I’m starting a Kristoff book. I will probably cry, want to throw the book across the room and or scream at it… and that’s just the first few chapters. I have had Illuminae on my TBR for far too long and need to pick it up this year because if the above is anything to go by it will definitely be for me.

Katherine Arden

These books gave me my love for delving into other cultures folklore/mythology. I had never read writing as beautiful as this and the world that Arden creates it wondrously magical. Add in that Vasya is one of my all time favourite heroines and I’m a little bit in love with Morozko, and I throw these books at literally every person I meet.

Samantha Shannon

I’ve liked Shannon for a while, I was a huge fan of her Bone season series and am hugely excited for the next book to be released. But it wasn’t until I took the dive and read the beast that was Priory that I fell in love with her writing. That book was epic fantasy at its absolute best and I will now pick up anything else she writes.

Some others that I adore are Sebastien De Castell, Leigh Bardugo, Brandon Sanderson, Elise Kova and Susan Dennard. These authors have written some of my all time favourite books and I will pick up literally anything they write. Would any of these make your favourite list? Let me know!

      1. That’s actually the reason why I haven’t continued yet ๐Ÿ™ˆ
I struggled reading it, but the story was intriguing!

      2. I really recommend sticking with it. I DNF around 3 chapters in the first time, but I eventually picked it back up. It definitely picks up around a quarter of the way through and you learn a bit more about all the characters which really helped me enjoy it more ๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. Yaas this list is ๐Ÿ”ฅ ! Schwab, Kristoff and Arden are some of my favorites too. I don’t think it’s that weird to know that you love an author’s work based on three of their books. I mean, I’ve only read one or two books from some of my auto-faves but when you know, you know, right?! Lol ๐Ÿ™‚
