I was well and truly treated for Christmas and my Birthday book wise, and because of that have put myself on somewhat of a book buying ban over the next few months (sub boxes not included obviously) in the hope that I will make it through some of them instead of constantly picking up new releases. I was treated by my family, friends and some lovely people on Twitter through an Amazon Wishlist exchange, and though I received quite a few more than 10 these are the ones I am most looking forward to starting. Did you get many bookish presents for Christmas? Or are you new purchases simply you treating yourself? Let me know in the comments.
Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.

Gravemaidens
I have wanted to read this ever since Susan over at Novel Lives did every kind of post she could focused on this book. She definitely sold it to me, and to top it off she treated me too it for my Birthday. I recently read it and it was exactly as good as she described.
Dune
Another present from the amazing Susan. I have seen really raving reviews for this one and I am trying to branch out more into Sci-Fi this year. I mean to be the best-selling Sci-Fi novel of all time it must be good right?
The Calculating Stars
Female astronauts. That’s it. That’s all I needed to decide to add this to my Christmas wish list. I mean ‘Elma’s drive to become the first Lady Astronaut is so strong that even the most dearly held conventions of society may not stand a chance against her.’ Makes it sound amazing! Really excited to start this one.
Realm of Ash
I love love loved Empire of Sand when I read it last year, so when I found out the author was doing a follow on story focused around Mehr’s sister I knew I had to grab a copy. I have heard, not surprisingly, some rave reviews for this one so I really want to pick this up asap.
The Book of Dust
The Northern Lights trilogy is still a favourite of mine, so I needed to have a copy of this book. I love the idea that this series is set in the same Universe but at different times than the books we know and love.
To Kill a Kingdom
Into the Crooked Place was one of my top reads last year and when I finished I went and found all the other books the author had written. Luckily for me there was only one at the minute and I was very happy finding this under the tree Christmas day.
Woven in Moonlight
Draws inspiration from Bolivian politics and history! You know me and diving into a new culture. Add in what sounds like a literary squad, royals, resistance fighters and revenge and this sounds right up my street.
Ink and Bone
The Library of Alexandria survived! Well ok… it didn’t but this book will let me believe for a few hundred pages that it did. There are quite a few books in this series which is a little daunting, but I have heard some really great reviews.
The Falconer
I mean between it being set in Scotland and that cover I am getting major Brave vibes. Female warriors born with a gift for hunting and killing the fae, that weaves together romance, action and Scottish Lore. Give it to me now!
Invisible Women
So this one is slightly different from the rest, and I cant really see it being a read in one sitting kind of book. My sister actually met the author and after her talk instantly bought the book for me and herself. This is all about the everyday things in life that aren’t made for women, and looking at the premise I can see this being a book that I might angry read. I plan on reading this maybe a chapter at a time so be prepared for some twitter rants.
Those are the 10 newest additions to my shelves. I am excited to pick up every single one of these, and am extremely thankful/grateful to all the lovely people that treated me. What recent additions to shelves are you excited to pick up?

Ooh I really want to read Woven in Moonlight! Not only is the cover STUNNING, it’s got Bolivian culture woven right in to it. What’s not to love about that??

I’m glad you liked them! I was really intrigued by the premise and I’m hoping to pick them up soon. My problem is i have no self control and just apply for blog tour/arcs left right and centre 🙈😂
