It’s ma Birthday 🎉! I am officially out of my 20’s and into my 30’s. I’m sure 30 is the age where you’re supposed to start acting like an adult but I’m just not ready for that yet, so you’ll get the same old silliness out of me. I normally have quite a quiet birthday with it being the day before New Years Eve, simply spending the day with family and maybe a few drinks in the evening. I already know two of my presents (i’ve scheduled this) my amazing younger sister is taking me on a tour of Ireland next year, somewhere the majority of my family hail from, and my friend is taking us for a long weekend to Porto in Portugal…. Harry Potter Library anyone! I am so excited for both of them & I get to tick another country off the bucket list. I was wondering what I could post to mark the occasion and then I came across this tag on Caffeine ane books.
This tag was originally created by BrunetteBibliophile over on YouTube, but I’ve seen it on a lot of blogs and YouTube channels over the years, I’ve just never done this one as far as I can remember.
Count your birth day along your bookshelf and then subtract your birth month. What book does it land on?
If you could spend your birthday with any literary character who would it be and why?
I think it would have to be Nikolai from Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse. He’s royalty so he would give amazing presents and would be sure to make your birthday a massive adventure… even if you did get into a little trouble along the way.
Find a book that takes place in the season you were born
I’m going to cheat and say the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. A lot of this series is set in Winter and she makes the season in Medieval Russia sound so beautiful.
Find a book that is the colour of your Birthstone
My birthstone is Turquoise and this is the closest book cover I could find. This is the second book in a series that I love and I am eagerly awaiting the final installment out next year.
Is their a series with the same number of book as your age? If so what is is?
So I had to google this one and apparently there are a few series out there with 30 or more books… who’s have guessed. I’ve picked Raymond E. Feist The Riftwar Cycle which comes in at 30 exactly.
Pick a book set in a time period, world or country you would like to have been born in.
I’d love to live in the world of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters. The bonus is that its modern time so we still get the technology we know and love, as well as kick ass demon hunters, the fae, werewolves, Vampires… I could go on but basically nearly every kind of mythical creature you can think of.
I’m not going to tag anybody for obvious reasons but if you do get round to doing this on your birthday please link back to me so I can read your posts!
