S.C.A.R.Y Books – Top 5 Saturday

This weeks Top 5 Saturday was a free choice so I decided to do something I saw Nen & Jen suggest on twitter. I’m going to pick 5 books that spell out the word SCARY. Sounds good right, and I wish I could take the credit for it. I’m going to choose books off my TBR for this one in the hope it might give me the kick I need to pick them up!

  • Share your top 5 books of the current topic– these can be books that you want to read, have read and loved, have read and hated, you can do it any way you want.
  • Tag the original post (This one!)
  • Tag 5 people

This idea was originally created by Mandy @Devouring Books and you should definitely go and give her blog some love!

Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor

I think the hype is putting me off this one a little, but I am determined to pick it up at some point. I really enjoyed DOSAB so I have high hopes.

The Calculating Stars – Mary Robinette Kowal

I actually found this thanks so Samantha Shannon and it sounds awesome! About a womans drive to become the first female astronaut. I am here for it.

The Alchemists of Loom – Elise Kova

Air Awakens is a favourite series of mine, so I’m not sure why I haven’t taken the time to dive into Kova’s other works. This one sounds really interesting, and has dragons, so you know… i’m sold.

Ruin of Kings – Jenn Lyons

I’m really intrigued by this one, it’s rare you get a story from the baddies perspective. With the next book due out it’s about time I gave this one a go.

The Young Elites – Marie Lu

I loved Warcross and Wildcard and am determined to pick up some more of Marie’s books. This one definitely sounds interesting and has had some rave reviews.

Ok! So that’s my acronym spelt out. Thanks again to Nen & Jen for the idea.

  1. OMGosh, I’ve just seen this in my spam comments section. I have NO IDEA why it was in there.I’m so sorry I missed this post. It’s literally made my day that you liked the spelling out SCARY idea!! 😀 😀 I’m really keen to read Strange the Dreamer too. I tried it but the words were so lyrical it kind of put me off. I wasn’t in the mood for an overly descriptive book but I’m keen to give it another try soon! Jen

    • Haha no worries! I have to troll through mine all the time because it keeps sending genuine comments there 🙈.

I couldn’t resist it was a great idea, so thanks for thinking of it 😏. I definitely think you have to be in a specific mood to pick up certain books, but hope you get round to it again.
