Ok! So we all know what I’m like for sticking to a TBR right???? HOWEVER, some of these books I have been meaning to read for a while now, so I will definitely be picking them up before the end of the year… I promise. Out of the rest, there are a couple I’m on a blog tour for, one or two I cant wait to get my hands on and quite a few off my Netgalley backlog (i’m determined to get that % back to 80.) What are some of the main reasons for books being on your fall TBR?
Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and you should definitely go give her blog some love.
Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
I know I cant be the only one excited for this release right? I love everything else Bardugo has written, especially Six of Crows, and i’m super excited to read her first foray into adult fiction. I have heard mixed reviews about this one, but i’m still holding out hope that I will enjoy it.
Below – Alexandria Warwick
The author very kindly granted me a copy of this for review. You know what I’m like for books based around another cultures folklore/mythology, so this one sounds right up my street and I cant wait to start it. I have had it for a while, but seeing as it is a 2020 release I wanted to hold off reviewing until closer to the release date.
Scythe – Neal Shusterman
This one seems like it has been on my TBR forever! But I am determined to pick it up before the end of the year. The premise is definitely intriguing and I don’t think I had read a bad review yet. Plus now all the books are out I wont have that torturous wait in between instalments.
The Guinevere Deception – Kiersten White
I mean just look at that cover! If that isn’t enough to make you want to pick it up, then the premise definitely will. Forbidden romances, deadly jousts… have I hooked you yet. This is one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I cant wait to dig in.
The Confession – Jessie Burton
I thoroughly enjoyed Burton’s the Minaturist, so when this popped up on my Netgalley feed I just had to hit request… even though I have over 20 books to give feedback for. This one sounds like it will be equally as intriguing, and I cant wait to dive in.
Darkdawn – Jay Kristoff
Part of me doesn’t want to read this because it will mean the end to one of my favourite series, and the other part wants me to pick it up now… I mean like right now. I’ve had to put this one on hold because I have a few blog tour books I need to read/review, but as soon as I have a free few days I will devour this one.
Sisters of Shadow & Light – Sara B. Larson
The premise really grabbed me for this book, so when I got the chance to be part of the blog tour for it I jumped at it. Described as a timeless tale of sisterly love and powerful magic, this is a book I have been dying to get my hands on for a while. My blog tour post is scheduled for 02/11 so keep your eyes peeled.
Steel Crow Saga – Paul Kruegar
This is another book off my Netgalley backlist. Described as a ‘Unique fantasy world of war and wonders, where empire is won with enchanted steel and magical animal companions fight alongside their masters in battle.’ I mean I was pretty much sold at Magical animal companions, but the reviews all look positive so I cant wait to start this one.
Illuminae – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman
Now this one I have been meaning to get to for years! I think part of me is afraid that it wont live up to the hype, but with that many people raving about it, it must be good right? I loved Aurora Rising so i’m pretty sure that when I eventually get round to reading this I will love it.
The Light at the Bottom of the World –
Another absolutely gorgeous cover! With an underwater London, action packed races and secretive and hot-headed companions, I cant wait to dive into these pages.
So those are some of the main books on my Fall TBR! There are soooo many more I need/want to get round to reading but these are some that I really don’t want to put off. Whats the one book of your TBR that you cant wait to start? Let me know in the comments.
