I love books that are set in space. Reading how humans would fare in space, and meeting multiple new alien races both good and bad! This is a hard list to narrow down, mainly because there are some awesome books out there, but I will try my best. I was tagged by the lovely Roo over at ByThe100thPage, and you should definitely go and give her blog some love.
This idea was originally created by Mandy @Devouring Books big thanks to Mandy for hosting and introducing me to so many other book bloggers and this tag! Please see the September prompts below.

The Martian

This was one of the first Sci-Fi books I ever picked up, and it definitely cemented my love for the genre. I really don’t know another author who could make growing potatoes in space both adventurous and hilarious, but wier manages it with ease. This is one of the few book/movie transfers that was actually super true to the book, but as always the book it superior.
The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet

This is Sci-Fi at its best. A fully immersive wild ride, with some hilarious and lovable characters. Chambers manages to create a whole Universe, with fully formed and beautifully intricate Alien races. I flew through the pages of this book and eagerly devoured the next in the series.
The Stars Now Unclaimed

I loved this book! With action from the get-go, some fantastically written characters, and one of my favourite literary AI’s. With a multitude of races, each introduced and explained with relative ease. You would never guess that this was a debut novel.
Skyward

The king of fantasy went and wrote a Sci-Fi novel! I’ve been a Sanderson fan for a while, so when I heard he was delving into Sci-Fi I knew I had to get my hands on it. Intricate and believable characters, and AI that you cant help but love, and an enemy that has you questioning everything you know. I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel.
Aurora Rising

Looking for a squad novel to beat them all? A book that has you on the edge of your seat? One that makes you laugh, cry and everything in between? Then this is the book for you. I have been a Kristoff fan for a while, and though I haven’t read Illuminae yet, I was a aware of the hype around these two. This book keeps you guessing until the very end, with characters you will almost definitely fall in love with.
Ok! So those are my top 5 books set in space. This was a hard list to narrow down, so some books that deserve an honourable mention are; Mirage, Nyxia and Artemis. I have also realised while doing this that I seriously need to up my game on reading more Sci-Fi books, so send me your recs.

😆 I can’t judge because I still haven’t picked up Illuminae, and I keep meaning to read Sandersons Way of kings but it’s just sooo big!

I haven’t read way of kings yet lol it’s intimidating. Ohhhh illuminae is amazing I read all three books in three days, because of the way they are written they are easy to fly through.

I have heard that! I’m just afraid it won’t live up to the hype. I’m definitely aiming to pick it up before the end of the year though

Yayyy I hope you like it! It’s not for everyone and reading a book in media format is something I hadn’t done before so I was nervous also especially with all the good things people were saying about it, but it didn’t let me down😊
