First Lines Friday!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

I’m slowly but surely getting through my ARC backlog…which means I can eventually get back to knocking books off my TBR! I’ve had a bad couple of months with reading, and it’s put me a couple behind on my Goodreads reading challenge. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up by the end of the year because there are some awesome books out there I cant wait to start.

I’m choosing another book off my TBR for this First Lines Friday! Doing these has made me super excited to read all these books and will hopefully give me the kick I need to catch up.

“The Scythe arrived late on a cold November afternoon. Citra was at the dining room table, slaving over a particularly difficult algebra problem, shuffling variables, unable to solve for X or Y, when this new and far more pernicious variable entered her life’s equation.”

Ooooh Im intrigued are you?? Ready to find out what it is????

I’ve heard so many good things about this series, I cant believe I haven’t started it yet. Have you guys read this one already? Let me know your thoughts.
