This weeks scheduled TTT was ‘The first 10 books I ever reviewed’ but I really couldn’t think of any! So I trolled through the backlog and found one that I thought would be fun to do. There are too many amazing books due out this year, and I’ve offered my firstborn to more that one author on the off chance they feel like sending me a review copy! Narrowing this down to 10 will be nearly impossible, but I’m going to give it my best shot. If you could choose one book due out this year to get your hands on early what would it be? Let me know in the comments.
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. You should definitely give her blog a look.
Aurora Rising – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kauffman
Hot space elves??? Count me in. I actually just managed to snag an early copy of this and I didn’t have to slay any Lion’s, so go me! This book sounds awesome and I cant wait to start reading it.
Darkdawn – Jay Kristoff
Even though I know this book is going to slowly kill me I still feel like I need to read it now… I mean like right now. There are so many unanswered questions!! I really want Mia to have a happy ending and I can just see Mr Kristoff evil laughing as he reads this.
Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
Seeing as I’ve loved all Leigh’s other books I’m super excited for this one! Add in that its set at Yale, as is all about secret societies and I’m totally here for it.
The Soul of the Sword – Julie Kagawa
The Shadow of the Fox was one of my top 2018 reads. I literally could not put it down, so I would give a body part to get my hands on an early copy of this. I cant wait to continue Yumeko’s storyline and find out what happens to Kage Tatsumi.
The Dragon Republic – R F Kuang
The Poppy War was awesome, I just loved how it pulled no punches and I adored the characters. I need to get my hands on this to find out what happens to Rin after that shocking ending.
The Guinevere Deception – Kiersten White
An Arthurian tale but based on Guinevere! Count me in. Add in
Deadly jousts, duplicitous knights, and forbidden romances and I cant wait to read it.
The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
Vampires! Need I say any more, and it looks like they’re making a comeback because Jay Kristoff himself has said his next series will be based on these legendary creatures. It’s also set in New Orleans which is one of my favourite cities!
Spin the Dawn – Elizabeth Lim
A Mulan retelling… that was pretty much all I needed to read to know I would enjoy this book. The plot just sounds really interesting and I love the fashion/fantasy blend that the author has going here.
Supernova – Marissa Meyer
I loved both Renegades and Archnemies and I need the ending of this series! I so want Adrian and Nova to have a happy ending but I’m not getting my hopes up.
Children of Virtue and Vengeance – Tomi Adeyemi
It feels like I’ve waited an age for this book! But – fingers crossed – it will be worth the wait. I cant wait to continue Zelie and Amari’s stories.
So these are my Top Ten but there are so many more: The Candle in the Flame, Sorcery of Thorns and Capturing The Devil just to name a few. Do any of these make your anticipated reads of 2019? Let me know in the comments.
