Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.
Most of the time rainy days annoy me. I always have plans or a holiday booked and then in true English fashion it starts to rain! However, when I don’t have any plans there is nothing better on a rainy day than snuggling up with a good book. This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is all about your favourite rainy day reads, and I tend to find that on these days I will re-read a favourite book of mine rather than starting a new book/series. So this post will focus on the books I re-read the most, ones that no matter how many times I read them, I still get all the feels.
Harry Potter
I must read this series at least once a year, and I tend to find myself picking them up when I have nothing to do. I’ve read them so many times and yet never get bored of the story line, and find myself on the edge of my seat even though I know what happens.
Rebel of the Sands
I’m a huge Alwyn Hamilton fan! I love the world she builds and the characters, especially Amani and Jin. They are really easy reads and I find it easy to loose myself in the world of the Djinn.
Throne of Glass
This is a series that you loose yourself in from the first chapter. I’ve not read a bad book by Sarah J Maas yet, and this is definitely one I’m prone to pick up on a rainy day.
Rumour has it
This is a favourite of mine by Jill Mansell, she writes THE BEST romance books and this one is particularly hilarious! I would highly recommend if you’re looking for an easy read that basically a really good rom-com.
Uprooted
I’ve read this book so many times its ridiculous! It’s just too damn good, by far one of my favourite re-tellings (its loosely based around beauty and the beast) and is so beautifully written.
The Bear and the Nightingale
This is a favourite series of mine, based around Russian folklore, its easy to loose yourself in the world that Arden creates. Add in lyrical writing, a beautiful story and amazingly written characters and you’re sure to enjoy this one.
Sheer Mischief
This is another book by Jill Mansell. There just the easiest books to read, on average takes me a few hours, and I find myself so invested in the outcome. Even though I’ve read them all before, it’s just like watching your favourite rom-com again and they never fail to entertain me.
Well that’s my list what do you guys think? I couldn’t think of ten, but I’ve definitely picked all these up on a rainy day once or twice and found myself transported somewhere else. Let me know if you’ve read any of these, or what your rainy day reads are. I love a good recommendation!
