Beating the Backlist- March Edition

Hello fellow bookworms! February was a good reading month. I managed 13 books, which considering how short the month felt, i’m impressed with. I managed to read 5 books off my backlist which beats January where I only managed 2. I also ran my monthly twitter poll where I ask you guys to pick the books I will read in the month. How are you all doing on you Backlist challenge? Let me know in the comments.

February reads

Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy – Rae Carson

I have to say I was very close to not finishing this series after the 1st book. However, the ending opened up a few possibilities, and made me pick up the 2nd. Overall, I wasnt enamoured with this series, but the characters were likeable and the plot interesting enough to keep me reading through all three books.

Senlin Ascends – Josiah Bancroft

This books just sucks you in, Senlin is such an unlikable hero that you cant help but root for. This is not an easy read by any means but Bancroft creates some of the best world-building I’ve ever read. The Tower of Babel is immense and I loved learning about all the different tiers. I would highly recommend this for fans of Samantha Shannon.

Archenemies – Marissa Meyer

This book was as good as renegades, I was waiting the whole way through for Nova and Adrian’s secrets to come out and I was that invested that I did not see the mahoosive plot twist coming. I’ve been a fan of Meyer’s since the Lunar chronicles and these books don’t disappoint.

March Picks

Frostblood and The Fifth Season were the picks off my twitter poll, and I’m super excited to read them! They have both been on my shelf for ages. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Mahimata through Edelweiss+, so I’ve added Markswoman to my monthly TBR to make sure I can post the review ASAP.

FrostBlood – Elly Blake / The Fifth Season – N K Jemisin / Markswoman – Rati Mehrotra
