S4S – Favourite Author

Hello fellow bookworms. Since I finished my ABC book challenge last Saturday I’ve needed something to fill my weekends, and when I saw Six for Sunday run by the amazing Steph over at A Little but a Lot, I knew I had to join in!

This weeks Six For Sunday is all about your favourite Authors. This is going to be incredibly hard to narrow down, simply because I have so many authors whose books I love, but I’m going to give it a go. Do you have an author you would consider your favourite or multiple? Let me know in the comments.

1.Naomi Novik – I fell in love with her work after reading Uprooted for the first time, and since then I’ve tried to get my hands on as many of her books as possible. I loved Spinning Silver, and have recently purchased the first 3 books in her Termeraire series, and I cant wait to dig in. Her writing style is gorgeous, and I just get pulled into her stories head first.

2. Leigh Bardugo – I don’t think there is a book of Leigh’s that I haven’t enjoyed. Her characters are some of my most loved, mainly for their witty dialect and that they’re not always the good guys, yes I’m talking about you Kaz! I’m currently reading King of Scars and I’m so happy I get to read more Nickolai!

3. Jeffrey Deaver – Crime was the first *adult* style genre that I read, and I quickly fell in love with Deavers Lincoln Rhyme series. One thing I like is how even after 14 book in the series, the plots always keep me hooked, and I love the evidence board style investigation, always makes me feel like a part of the team.

4 . Jill Mansell – I wouldn’t class myself as a romance novel fan. but Jill’s books are the exception. She writes such witty and realistic characters, the best way I can describe her books is a really good rom-com in book form. I always recommend her books for anyone in a reading slump, or people looking for an easy but still enjoyable read.

5. Victoria Schwab – I’ll admit to not liking all of Schwab’s books, but her ADSOM series is one of my all time favourites. I adore Kell and Lila, and Lila has some of my favourite bookish quotes. Her world building is fantastic and she drags you into Red London head first. I have Vicious & Vengeful on my TBR, and I think I may have to move them up the list.

6. Harper Lee– She may only have published 2 books but To Kill a Mockingbird is pretty much my all time favourite read. Her writing style is sublime, and I feel it took a lot of guts to write a novel like this at the time it was published. This is one book I recommend to everybody! It should be a staple in any readers bookshelf, and I’ve yet to find someone who didn’t take something away from this book whether they enjoyed it or not.

Well that’s my top 6! There are so many more amazing authors out there whose books I’ve loved. Are there any authors on here who would make your list?
