Hello fellow bookworms! Have you ever picked up a first novel in a series and loved it, but then never found the time to read the rest, or simply forgot. I am forever reading the first in a series and never getting round to reading the other books for whatever reason. It’s a really bad habit that I intend to kick in the New Year. This post will focus on my top series that I desperately want to finish. Let me know your opinions on these. Do you recommend me finishing them or do you feel I could pass and not miss out?
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I’ve actually only read the first book in this series, and I don’t know why because I loved it! I’m pretty sure it took too long for book 2 to arrive and I had started reading another series (i’m far too impatient for my own good), but this is definitely a series I will be picking up again and hopefully reading the whole way through. I love Laini’s writing style and know this will be a series that I will love.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I have to admit to not being overly enamoured with this book, which is probably why I didn’t bother picking book 2 up straight away. However, I’ve heard so many good things about the series overall that I feel I should give it another go. I recently bought the rest of the series in an Amazon sale so I have no excuse now to not finish it.
I don’t know if this is worse but I have actually read every book in the series except War Storm, the last one! I know I’m crazy but I just haven’t got round to finishing it yet. I would probably have to re-read the whole series to make sure I was up to date and that its just too big an undertaking at this moment in time. I will absolutely be picking this series up again though, as I need to find out what happens after that cliffhanger in Kings Cage.
Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill
I really liked this book, and desperately wanted to read Ever the Brave. But my OCD kicked in, and because I had this book in Paperback I had to wait to get Ever the Brave in the same format (why paperbacks come out a year after the hardback version I will never understand!) I had then obviously read so many books in between that I would need to re-read and I just haven’t had the time!

I read the first Diviners book when it first came out and LOVED it, but then just forgot to read the rest of them. I really want to finish that series because I heard it just gets better.
