L – The ABC Book Challenge

l_4_lg

Ok! So for this challenge you have to make a post a week focusing on one letter at a time. You include your favourite reads starting with the letter and highly anticipated books on your TBR. This week I will be doing the letter L.

Books I’ve Read

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

I only read this series last year and fell in love with Percy, Grover, Annabeth and the rest of Camp Half-Blood. This is a great series for readers of any age, I love the witty sarcastic remarks and it has some amazing one liners! Don’t let the films put you off this is a series you don’t want to miss.

The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

This is a fantastic breakthrough Sci-Fi series. It has amazing representation and touches on so many issues relevant today such as Racism, LGBTQ and Diversity. Besides all this its an amazing story, the plot moves along seamlessly and her descriptions are beautiful. Though it doesn’t contain a lot of the action prevalent in Sci-Fi nowadays its still a gripping story and I would highly recommend adding it to your TBR.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

I loved Clare’s Mortal Instrument series and, even though they didn’t play a massive part I liked Emma and Julian’s story line, which made this an easy series to pick up. This is a fantastic follow on series, and could possibly be read as a standalone. Forbidden love and magic… what more could you want from a series.

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

I hadn’t heard much of this book before receiving it in a Fairyloot box. I instantly fell in love with the world and characters, I mean it has dragons so what more could you want. Beside that its a story of forbidden love and the struggle for power. The second book in the series The Caged Queen was released this year and you can find my review for it here.

Books on my TBR

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch / The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp/ Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff / Lost Boy by Christina Henry
