G – The ABC Book Challenge

Ok! So for this challenge you have to make a post a week focusing on one letter at a time. You include your favourite reads starting with the letter and highly anticipated books on your TBR. This week I will be doing the letter G.

Books I’ve Read

A Game of Thrones by George R R Martin

By now everyone has heard of Game of Thrones, whether you watch the TV show or not, but my first dip into the world of Westeros was through the books. I loved this series and i’m desperately waiting for the next book to be released. Such a rich fantasy novel and I really like how each chapter focuses on a different character.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I’ve read and loved all of Flynn’s novels, with sharp objects being my favourite, but I still loved Gone Girl. She writes such dark and intricate female characters you cant help but get drawn in with the mystery of it!

Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee

I was so excited when I heard they were finally publishing the sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird. It was one of my all time favourites growing up and this was not a let down for me. I loved hearing more about Scout and the Finches. Definitely worth the wait in my opinion.

Gateway to Fourline by Pam Brondos

This series was a spur of the moment buy for me but one I certainly don’t regret! Such a great but unknown fantasy series. Brondos writes great characters and a realistic but slightly out of reach fantasy world that I would love to be able to visit. I highly recommend this series if you haven’t heard of it.

The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden

This is the second book in the Winternight Trilogy and was easily as good as the first! Vasya is one of the most interesting heroines I’ve had the pleasure of reading and I adore learning about all the Russian Folklore that Arden incorporates into these books. I cannot recommend this series enough and I’m eagerly anticipating the third instalment out next year!

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

I was late to the Nevernight train but after getting through the first couple of chapters of Nevernight I  devoured both books in a matter of days. Godsgrave is another sequel as good as the first book and with the ending you get I need Darkdawn in my hands now!

Books on my TBR

The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker / The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey / Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence / Give the Dark my Love by Beth Revis / The Gilded Wilves by Roshani Chokshi
